Make it something you enjoy

August 25th 2007

Nearly all of the successful entrepreneurs communicate a common message. To be successful you have to be passionate about your product, be it a blog, a web app, a bottle of beer, or an airliner. You have to have an interest and a true passion for it to succeed. If you don’t love it and want to use the service or consume the product, how can you expect anyone else to?

I have to whole heartedly agree with this so I thought I would list some of the things I am most passionate about or have a keen interest in:-

• Computers – I love the way they bring the globe together and how they can help people’s lives in many various and wonderful ways.

• Self Improvement – Well I know I am far from perfect, so why not invest some time into me, my skills and develop new good habits.

• Mountain Biking – What a wonderful sport, fast and furious sometimes, calm and tranquil the next.

• Camping/Bushcraft – The great outdoors, it’s a fantastic feeling to be at one with nature escaping the fast digital life.

• Nutrition/Fitness – The body is a machine and it needs love and attention just like a car, feed it the right fuels and it will perform better than ever.

• Business – I would love to be my own boss, the keeper of my own destiny. It must be a wonderful feeling creating something that provides you a living and you get to work with it and love it every day.

These are just some of my interests; some take a bigger slice of my life than others, some should take a bigger slice than others. Whatever my business idea is I think it needs to combine at least two, if not three of the above for me to really get a strong passion about my product or service.
